Tech giant Amazon has announced that AWS customers can continue using artificial intelligence technology from Anthropic in work outside defense, following the federal agency labeling Anthropic a “supply chain risk.” Furthermore, Google and Microsoft recently stated they will continue offering Anthropic’s technology to clients, excluding for defense work. Amazon invested $8 billion in Anthropic in 2023, less than Google who invested an additional $1 billion to its previous $2billion stake.
The Trump administration has announced a $20 billion reinsurance program for oil tankers and other maritime traffic in an attempt to kickstart vessel movement through the Strait of Hormuz. U.S. crude oil prices surged 12%, reaching over $90 per barrel as Persian Gulf tanker traffic remains slow due to the ongoing Iran war.

The biggest losers were Western Alliance Bancorp, Rocket Companies, ServisFirst Bancshares, SAIA, and RXO.
