GameStop’s CEO, Ryan Cohen, is hoping to achieve a “very big” consumer megadeal which could subsequently boost the company’s value by tenfold. Without naming potential acquisition targets, Cohen revealed his intention to acquire a publicly traded, undervalued consumer company, stating that successful investment had the potential to make GameStop worth several hundreds of billions of dollars.
A former Google software engineer, Linwei Ding (alias Leon Ding), was found guilty on all counts of economic espionage and theft of trade secrets. Ding was convicted for stealing numerous pages containing Google’s AI technical insights to benefit China. This is the first conviction on AI-related economic espionage charges in the U.S.
Jim Cramer released his top 10 list of stocks to watch. Tech stocks Sandisk and iOS device giant Apple showed promising performances. Others significantly performing well include Deckers Outdoor, Honeywell, and Stryker. However, Freeport-McMoRan, Verizon, and Exxon Mobil suffered losses.
Former Federal Reserve Governor, Kevin Warsh, has been nominated by President Donald Trump to chair the U.S. central bank. Although Warsh’s nomination would need Senate confirmation, Trump has expressed faith in Warsh’s capabilities to run the central bank successfully.
Eli Lilly aims to invest over $3.5 billion in the construction of a manufacturing plant in Pennsylvania’s Lehigh Valley. This future plant is set to produce the company’s next generation of obesity drugs, such as a closely watched experimental drug called retatrutide.
The Department of Justice has announced the release of more than three million additional pages of documents related to Jeffrey Epstein. This release includes videos and images, but no more documents are expected to be given out after this release.
